DEMAND LARGE CASH PAYMENTS
FROM CABLE CUSTOMERS
Local Sioux City stations are demanding increased cash payments of 400% over the next three years to allow Terril Cable Systems to continue carriage. This month there is a line item on your statement called “Broadcaster Surcharge.” This amount shows what you are currently paying per month. Please know that Terril Cable Systems will not be keeping one cent of this charge. Every penny will be sent to the broadcasters for what they call “free, over-the-air television.”
These outrageous fees are a result of federal laws passed by the U.S. Congress in 1992 and the greed of the TV stations. It is unfair for you as a cable customer to pay to receive these “free over-the-air signals, which now are also available to watch free over the internet
